Bright Ideas

Do you love plants but have north-facing windows? Lots of shade trees? Or perhaps you want to have a plant several feet away from a window? Here's how!

Choose with care. Enjoy these plants even in low light:

Aspidistra
Dracaena (Corn Plant, Janet Craig varieties)
Kentia palm
Philodendron (Heart Leaf Cordatum)
Pothos (Jade, Golden, Marble Queen varieties)
Sansevieria (rosette or tall sword-like forms)

Rotate. Choose a pair of plants. Place one in your low light spot. Place the other in a brighter place. Switch monthly to keep both plants looking beautiful.

Add light with Gro-lights. Supplement natural light by using Gro-light bulbs in ceiling fixtures or in lamps that will shine down on your plants.

Choose silk plants. For locations without any light, silk plants lend beauty and color.
