Gardening and Landscaping
SeminarsMerrifield Garden Center hosts informational
seminars at various
times throughout the year on an assortment of gardening and landscaping topics.
Whether you're just starting out or are an experienced gardener with a green
thumb, these classes offer something for everyone. Our
seminars are typically
held from late January through early April and then again from September through
December.
Merrifield Garden Center's Weekly Television Program,
"The
Gardening Advisor"This informative and entertaining show features well
known Gardening Experts David Yost and Peg Bier, and is hosted by Debbie
Warhurst Capp. "Merrifield's Gardening Advisor" airs live every Saturday morning
from 8 to 9 a.m. on NewsChannel 8. This program covers a wide assortment of
gardening and landscape topics, including roses, perennials, container
gardening, lawns, trees, insect controls, as well as design and decorating
ideas. Viewers are invited to join in the on-air experience by calling in with
their gardening questions. So tune into "Merrifield's Gardening Advisor" each

At Merrifield Garden Center, we have our very own Speaker's Bureau, which can
provide your garden club, civic organization or company with an interesting and
informative guest speaker on an assortment of gardening and landscaping topics.
Made up from our talented team of horticulturists, plant specialists and
Virginia Certified Nurserymen, Merrifield's Speaker's Bureau can help make your
next meeting an effective one.
From houseplants and vegetable gardening to perennials and landscape design,
we have the nursery professionals to teach your group about the wonderful world

"In the Garden with Andre Viette" Radio ProgramMerrifield
Garden Center is proud to support this call-in radio program, hosted by
internationally known perennial grower, hybridizer and lecturer Andre
Viette. "In the Garden with Andre Viette" explores the wonderful world of
perennials and many other gardening topics, and airs each Saturday morning from
8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on WAGE Radio, 1200 AM, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
on WMET Radio, 1160 AM. Call in with your questions, and listen each week to
learn all about gardening from this respected gardening expert.
