Planting for Pollinators

Saturday, June 22, 10 AM – Fair Oaks

Suzanne Conway, Merrifield Plant Specialist and Andy Johnson, Merrifield Plant and Wildlife Specialist

Join Suzanne and Andy for tips and inspiration on how to support pollinators in gardens of all sizes. They will share their plant picks for attracting birds, bees, butterflies and other pollinators to gardens.

Perennials for Pollinators Tour

Saturday, June 22, 1 pm – All Stores

Join our plant specialists in the perennials house at each of our stores for a tour of native perennials for pollinators. Tours will depart at 1 pm. Wear comfortable shoes and come prepared with any questions you have about gardening for the birds, bees and butterflies!

Plant a Pollinator Garden

Anyone can plant a garden to support our local pollinators, whether they have a balcony or a large landscape! Pick up a list of plants you can add to your garden to support pollinators from March to November in store. You may also want to check out our blog post on planting native to support butterflies. 

Photo Contest

June 10 – June 30

Our Pollinator Week Photo contest will run from June 10 to June 30. Submit a photo of your favorite pollinator (a bird, bee or butterfly!) to our facebook page or on instagram with #mgcpollinatorweek. Don’t use social media? That’s fine! You can email your submissions to us at
