Both rubber pond liner and Typar landscaping fabric are essential when installing a pond or other water feature. We sell a variety of different sizes of each product. Pond liner should line the bottom of the water feature while Typar landscape fabric should cover the sides of the hole you’ve dug for your pond or water feature. We carry pond liner in an assortment of widths and sell it by the foot, including: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30’. We sell Typar in sq. ft. pieces and in the following roll sizes: 3 x 25’, 3 x 50’, 3 x 100’, 6 x 360’ and 12 x 360’.

Water Pumps

We carry pumps of all sizes to move the water throughout your pond, sending it through filtration systems to keep the water clean. The size of the pump needed is directly related to the size of the pond. Our Plant Specialists are happy to provide a recommended pump based on your environment. Pumps can also be combined with other features, such as fountains or water frogs, to help circulate the water while creating a whimsical feel. Larger pumps can move more water, allowing you to create streams or waterfalls connected to your pond or other water feature.

Dechlorinator

Another must have for water garden management is a dechlorinator chemical that will deactivate the chlorine in the water of the pond. This is critical to keep your fish alive and thriving. Follow the package directions to determine the amount needed based on the capacity of your pond. You should also use dechlorinator chemicals when you add water to your pond.

Lights

While lights are not required for the health of your fish or aquatic plants, pond lighting will create a warm glow to allow you to enjoy your water garden all hours of the day or night.

Aquatic Plants

We carry a plethora of attractive aquatic plants that you can add to your water garden. If you’re looking to add flowering plants to your water garden, check out lilies and water lotus. We carry lilies in shades of pink, white and yellow, as well as a few species of lotus flowers. We also carry many different bog plants, including:

  • Typha Angustifolia (cat tails)
  • Cannas
  • Colocasia Black Magic
  • Dulichium Tigris (just greens)
  • Iris Red Velvet Elvis
  • Lizard’s tail
  • Ranunculus Flammula
  • Ruellia Brittoniana
  • Sagittaria Latifolia
  • Sweet Flag (just greens)

Fish and Fish Food

We carry koi and goldfish for you to add to your water garden. We also carry a variety of different fish foods, including Dainichi for all kinds of fish. If you are building a pond with fish, we recommend laying a net on top so that predators can’t come in and eat the fish.

Nets

One of the most important tools to have in your arsenal is a net to clean your water feature. We carry fine white mesh skimmer nets that are great to scoop small debris from your pond. We also carry coarse fabric nets which are better suited for lifting out heavier debris and muck from the bottom of the pond. Larger nets in sizes such as 7×10’ and 28×45’ can be draped over the pond to keep pesky animals away from eating your fish or damaging your aquatic plants.
