We carry many different kinds of stone and sand products that serve both practical and decorative functions in your landscape. From smaller sized gravel to thicker and more polished stone, we have many options for you to choose from.
We carry several different forms of functional gravel and sand for all your landscape building needs. These products are most commonly used as sub-base products, providing structure and support for hardscapes and drainage projects.
57 gravel is the most commonly used base gravel in our area. It consists of crushed limestone, blue stone, quartzite and limestone. The pieces are jagged and angular. When compacted, the pieces will allow air and water to flow through to the soil underneath, making this an ideal material to use as a base for hardscapes and drainage projects. Order your 57 gravel for delivery here.
Blue stone gravel consists of ¾” pieces of blue stone that have been crushed by machinery and prepared for use in the landscape. It is jagged and when placed in your yard, will help with drainage because the natural spaces between the jagged stones let more air and water seep through into the soil. It has a blue-gray color and can be attractive for driveways, French drains, concrete and asphalt mixes. It is especially durable and will not move easily if your area floods or you are on a slope. It is similar to 57 gravel in size, shape and use but consists of only blue stone compared to 57 gravel that is composed of many stone types. Order your blue stone gravel for delivery here.
Blue stone dust is the smallest gradation of blue stone, created by running pieces of blue stone through a crushing machine to make a fine consistency of sand and small pebble-like pieces. It is ideal to use as a leveling sub base underneath brick, flagstone, cobblestone, and natural stone patios, walkways and driveways. Order your blue stone dust for delivery here.
Builder’s sand is naturally found in riverbeds, lakes, ocean floors and beaches. It is versatile and helpful for a plethora of different uses in landscape and in hardscape projects. It is also known as all purpose sand, coarse sand and construction sand. You can lay it down before pavers and use it as a leveling agent. It can be used to improve drainage in soil, create cement or asphalt mixes, help with brickwork and paving, lay underneath patios, help with foundations of pathways and masonry, and many other applications. Mortar sand is made from crushed stone and can be mixed with mortar mix and water to make cement to use in hardscape projects. It can also be used as a subbase on patios, walkways or driveway surfaces to keep your pavers in place. It is finer than builder’s sand and will stay in place better than blue stone dust given the adhering properties. Order your mortar sand for delivery here.
