Blue Stone Dust is the smallest gradation of blue stone, created by running pieces of blue stone through a crushing machine to make a fine consistency of sand and small, pebble-like pieces. It is ideal to use as a leveling sub base underneath brick, flagstone, cobblestone and natural stone patios, walkways and driveways.
We stock Blue Stone Dust in 50 lb. bags and by the cubic yard.
We can deliver 60 bags on a pallet. If you’re ordering a full pallet of material, we will bring a forklift to unload the product onto your driveway.
We can deliver a maximum of 3 cubic yards on one truck to your location. One yard of Blue Stone Dust is equivalent to 3,100 pounds. The maximum amount of weight we can fit on one truck is 12,500 lbs. If you need more than 3 cubic yards of Blue Stone Dust, it will require more truck(s) and additional delivery fee(s).
In addition to delivery, we can also provide installation services. If you’re interested in having our team install your Blue Stone Dust, please book a landscape appointment and select Draining & Grading Issues as the appointment type. When installing Blue Stone Dust and other sub base stone products:

What is Blue Stone Dust?
Blue Stone Dust dust is a finely crushed stone byproduct from bluestone. It has a powder-like texture with very small chips mixed in.
Does Blue Stone Dust compact well?
Yes, it compacts very tightly. It binds together when wet, creating a firm, stable layer ideal for flagstone.
Can Blue Stone Dust be used as the only base?
No. It should not be used by itself as the full base because it holds moisture and can shift.
Always pair with a proper gravel base like 21A or 57 gravel, then dust on top.
Is Blue Stone Dust Dust good for drainage?
It’s not a drainage material because it compacts so tightly. Blue Stone Dust is best used as a leveling product.
