River jack gravel and stone consists of smooth, shiny stones in shades of blue, white, gray, brown and red. It is primarily used decoratively in the landscape as a ground cover, adorning pathways, top dressing stream beds or drainage solutions, under fountains and lining flower beds as an alternative to wood-based mulch.
We carry river jack by the 50 lb. bag or in bulk by the cubic yard. Bagged river jack (50 lbs.) comes in three different sizes : ⅜”, ¾”, and 2”. We can carry 60 bags of river jack on one pallet. If you’re ordering a full pallet of material we will bring a forklift to unload the product onto your driveway. Bulk river jack (cubic yards) comes in the following sizes: ¾”, 1 to 4” and 3 to 6”.
If you’re interested in buying in bulk, we can deliver a maximum of 4 cubic yards on one truck over to your location. One yard of river jack is equivalent to 2,600 pounds. When installing river jack gravel and other decorative stone products:
How do I know how much stone to use?
Use our coverage calculator to determine how much material you’ll need for any given space in the garden. You can measure the space where you wish to add mulch, stone or topsoil and apply that to our calculator to see how much you will need. In general, we recommend placing a 2 to 4” layer of river jack if you’re using it for decorative purposes.
